About IASF

Who are we?

IASF was started in 1993 by Dr. P. Ravi Sharma under the direction of the India American Cultural Association (IACA), a 501(c)(3) registered, non-profit, tax-exempt organization in the state of Georgia, USA. The goal of the Scholarship Fund was to provide financial assistance to high school students entering college. The scholarships are for Indian-American students, who are graduates of a school in Georgia.

The initial scholarships were given to two students, for a total of $1,500. In the ensuing 15 years, the program has expanded to provide financial aid to the tune of 25-30K annually to 12-15 students who are in financial need as well as recognize academic and extra-curricular excellence.

Dr. Sarma was chairman of the Fund from 1993 to 2002. Since then Dr. Suvrat Bhargave, Dr. Anuj Manocha and their team has provided continued and excellent leadership. Today it is lead by a team consists of Kris Gadde, Paddy Sharma, Dr Ganesan Sowdayya and Raghava Tadavarthi.
